Work Experience

My work experience has moved through public service, agriculture, logistics, freelance creative work and now software development. Each step built skills I still rely on today: responsibility, clear communication, planning and staying calm when things change quickly. This page gives an overview of that journey and how those roles connect to the way I now work as a developer.

  1. 2013–2016

    Lifeguard, Places Leisure

My first long-term job in the UK, looking after guests in a busy public leisure centre.

    • Monitored pool safety and enforced rules to prevent accidents.
    • Responded to incidents and first-aid situations with a clear head.
    • Learned to stay focused for long shifts and communicate clearly with the public.
  2. 2017–2018

    Agricultural Worker, Agromillora (Australia)

Seasonal agricultural work in Australia, combining machinery operation with plant care on a large farm.

    • Operated tractors and equipment safely over long days in changing conditions.
    • Looked after plants in the field and in poly tunnels, following strict procedures.
    • Built discipline, stamina and a habit of planning ahead to keep work running smoothly.
  3. 2018–2019

    Agricultural Worker, LeaderBrand (New Zealand)

Continued agricultural work in New Zealand on large-scale lettuce production and logistics.

    • Coordinated the movement of crops from fields to storage, supporting smooth logistics.
    • Used heavy machinery responsibly across large paddocks.
    • Adapted quickly to weather, schedules and priorities while keeping quality high.
  4. 2019–2020

    Warehouse Associate, Europa-Park

Warehouse role supporting hotels and restaurants at one of Europe’s largest theme parks.

    • Handled stock for food and beverages and ensured timely deliveries to internal customers.
    • Maintained an organised, safe warehouse environment.
    • Learned to work efficiently in a fast-paced, service-focused operation.
  5. 2020–2023

    Warehouse Associate, ML Medien-Logistik

Logistics and warehouse position handling shipments for Deutsche Post in Nuremberg.

    • Processed incoming and outgoing shipments while keeping inventory accurate.
    • Helped keep daily operations running reliably under time pressure.
    • Took on informal coordination tasks and supported a cooperative team atmosphere.
  6. 2021–2022

    Freelance Videographer & Video Editor

Alongside logistics work, I ran a small freelance business producing video content for clients.

    • Planned, filmed and edited projects from initial brief to final delivery.
    • Managed client communication, expectations and deadlines independently.
    • Learned to scope work, price projects and take full responsibility for the result.
  7. 2025

Full Stack Engineer (Intern), Schwarz IT

Backend-leaning full stack internship on a data-intensive platform used across the Schwarz Group.

    • Developed features in Kotlin backends and Vue.js/TypeScript frontends.
    • Designed and consumed OpenAPI-based REST APIs in a Docker and CI/CD environment.
    • Improved data flows and refactored backend modules to make the codebase easier to maintain.
    • Worked in an agile team, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews and documentation.
